Umber Bandi-Ville is born in a Catholic and Yoruba household, on June 6th, 1962 in Cuba. He is drafted by Escuela Nacional de Ballet Alicia Alonso; studies acting and theater, and excels in sports. During his military service he joins the Arts Brigade of the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias, taking lessons in acting and music. Music becomes his passion in life. In 1983 he leaves for Montreal, Québec, Canada. in 1988 he opens Club Varadero, the first Cuban social club in Montreal.
